The Non-Destructive Entry: A Guide for Law Enforcement

As Law Enforcement and Entry Specialists, many times your job is to make entry no matter how you do it

There are times, however, when you need to make entry without being noticed. Specialized warrants, surveillance, or stealth make taking the door a non-option at times. That's where these lessons come in. This class is written specifically for LE and ES and deals with the types of locks you will find, identification of locks and keyways, bypass techniques, bumping, and picking locks. In fact, while you may not be an expert in the field, you will be spending several hours leaning the techniques behind picking locks and making covert entry. Overcoming security systems, understanding the faults in locking systems, and other issues will be discussed at length as well. Students will be working on actual locks they will find in the field and class will culminate in a large scale exercise to test their new-found skills. Class length is 16 hours over two days.

NOTE: Due to the sensitive nature of this class and the materials covered ONLY active career Law Enforcement Officers (background checked) are allowed to attend.

What you need to know for the class

Time to arrive-

If you are taking an "off-site" class in a community classroom, the doors open 15-30 minutes prior to the start of class. Feel free to come inside, check in, meet the instructor, have a seat, and relax. We want you to be comfortable in the classroom environment. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks. If your class is "on-site" we will be there early and late to be available to students.

Materials needed-
In a word...nothing. 9/11 Training will have all the items you need including books, note-taking materials, pens/pencils, and so on. If you want to bring a notebook that's totally OK, however it certainly isn't required. All training locks and tools will be provided to students, so all you really need to bring is you.

Classroom Locations-

Most classes will be at a predetermined agency area or classroom. In the rare event that class is to be at a different area, students will be advised in plenty of time to make any adjustments. On day two, part of the day will be spent at a remote site(s) learning and working on locks and entry methods.
